Traditionally in small rural villages in China these folded paper pieces were used to hold embroidery, needles, pieces of fabric, shoe patterns, and perhaps a list or photo.

It is my pleasure to present these Baos folded in a traditional pattern and put together as they once were.

I have taken the liberty to use art papers to fold the twist box, the masu book, the hidden box, and the big box; gluing them stacked together so each layer is accessible. I have placed a fabric cover over each one with a ribbon wrapped closure.

These are works of art simply by using the art paper combinations I have chosen. Also because very few people have learned the sizes of paper for each level or the folding techniques.

They would be a perfect gift for the designer or seamstress and as a Chinese modern day collector.
