The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

What is the purpose and message of dreams?

Dreams can feel perplexing and strange, riddled with messages. Some dreams are recurring, with puzzling themes or situations that resurface in different ways. Scientists and experts in the field agree that they can be an indication of an unacknowledged or unresolved situation that requires attention.

Antonio Zadra, a professor and sleep researcher says, “most recurrent dreams have negative content, arise during periods of stress, and dissipate once the stressor has been successfully dealt with.” These recurring dreams can indicate potential, signaling towards change and opportunities for growth.

The author, psychotherapist, and dream expert Brigette Holzinger suggests that it is important to observe and work with the feelings in dreams rather than analyze the images. “Our dreams take place overlapping body, mind, and soul simultaneously.”

How to Approach your Dreams

  1. Write down your dream in as much detail as possible. Pay attention to the feelings of the ‘moving picture’ of the dream.

  2. Allow your mind to freely notice what you are seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, moving, without any judgement. You might even meditate on the dream.

  3. Notice what the dream reminds you of, taking note of that. Ask yourself what you did the previous day or what projects you have for the days ahead.

  4. Elaborate on what the dream reminded you of and explain how it moved you and what you saw when you looked closely. Write it down.low

Try writing about a dream you have experienced recently using the steps above. Share any of your insights in the comments below.

Have an insightful day!
